These beautifully illustrated stories can be enjoyed by children regardless of their reading abilities. The audio-synchronized text highlighting serves as an engaging entry point into reading. For beginning readers, the option to turn off narration or play audio for selected phrases allows them to practice and enhance their literacy skills.

GLEN Books serves as an effective tool for strengthening language skills at home, in informal preschool settings, or as a complement to classroom activities for Kindergarten and 1st grade students. GLEN World is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding early English literacy to ensure every child accesses the educational and economic opportunities it fosters. GLEN Books is part of GLEN Learn, a personalized learning app grounded in research that assists children in improving reading skills through guided exercises, engaging stories, and rhymes. The content design is informed by Instructed Second Language Acquisition research, focusing on essential literacy skills: vocabulary development, sound recognition, and spelling comprehension. Our modules are interconnected to reinforce these fundamental areas.

The GLEN team consists of experienced educators, authors, animators, graphic artists, and engineers. A notable advantage is our collaboration with leading research institutions such as the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), where faculty members contribute expertise across various disciplines including second language acquisition, education, cognition, engineering, and machine learning.
